Mushroom

Intro

Mushroom is a stop-motion animated short that traces the slow genesis of a nearly human-like organism—emerging not from will, but through moisture, trembling, and touch. It is a process of natural, uncertain becoming.

The film unfolds within a damp, trembling micro-ecosystem: waxen skins, pulsing membranes, and porous fungal structures form a breathing terrain where the organic and inorganic blur. Shapes rise slowly, uncertain whether they are growing or remembering how to grow. They tremble, pause, and reach—toward air, toward each other, toward the edge of becoming.

This is not a story of characters. It is a choreography of wet perception—a mutual awakening between life and its environment. Materials such as latex, starch, resin, and pigment are hand-crafted to the point of becoming almost alive: sweating, quivering, softening, decaying. Through these micro-gestures, the film builds a tender and uncanny posthuman intimacy—a world where life is not declared, but quietly emerges.
